Seminar Leaders

Favorite Part of Engineering:

Problem solving and the sense of accomplishment after solving a difficult problem

Other Involvements at UVa:

Club water polo, Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, Mentorship Chair for UVA's AICHe chapter

Things You like to do when You're not being an Engineer:

Exercise, cook, hang out with friends

If you could be any fictional character, who would you be and why?

Percy Jackson because he is the son of Poseidon, has the ability to control water, and breathe underwater.

What advice would you give to your first-year self?

Don't be afraid to do more of what you want to do. Hanging out with your friends is a lot of fun, but trying new things get you out of your comfort zone and helps you discover more of who you really are.

Favorite Part of Engineering:

My favorite part of engineering is applying what you have learned in class to solve real-world situations.

Other Involvements at UVa:

University Dance Club, Alumni and Corporate Relations Committee member for the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) student chapter, Society of Women Engineers (SWE), undergraduate researcher in Professor Green's research group, and volunteer for the PB and J Fund through Madison House.

Things You like to do when You're not being an Engineer:

When I am not being an engineering student I enjoy dancing, baking, and reading

If you could be any fictional character, who would you be and why?

If I could be any fictional character I would probably be Sherlock Holmes because I would want his powers of deduction.

What advice would you give to your first-year self?

I would tell my first year self to take advantage to all the opportunities that come up at UVA to join new clubs, explore different majors, and get resume and career help. I would also tell her to study for every test like it is the final, so that when finals do come you won't have to.
